Escribano Point Wetland Delineation

Client: Baskerville Donovan, Inc.

Location: Santa Rosa County, FL

Summary: Located along the eastern shore of greater Pensacola Bay in Santa Rosa County, Escribano Point is the eastern demarcation point between Blackwater Bay and East Bay. This historically timbered parcel of land is bounded by the Yellow River Marsh Aquatic Preserve, conservation lands owned by the Northwest Florida Water Management District and Eglin Air Force Base.

Cardno ENTRIX, Inc. was contracted to perform the wetland delineation of this 1,500-acre tract of land and subsequent petition to the FDEP for a formal determination of the landward extent of wetlands pursuant to Chapter 62.343.040 and receive concurrence.

The result of historical timbering operations creates an inherently complex delineation that required a considerable amount of technical expertise needed to satisfy the stringent requirements of the Departments binding determination. The resulting delineation consisted of over 6,000 flagged wetland points that were jointly field reviewed with the Department?s Wetland Evaluation and Delineation Section (WEDS) Team and successfully received the binding Formal Wetland Determination.
