The Cardno ENTRIX team included experts from the fields of environmental economics, business development and management, resource management, planning, land trust operations, conservation planning, tourism and recreation. The approach built on trusted business development principles and combines these with innovative environmental conservation strategies to focus on the multiple goals and objectives of diverse stakeholders. The work included analyzing and recommending a mix of revenue-generating enterprises that would capitalize on the natural assets of the Preserve while sustaining its ecological and cultural integrity and providing access to the public. These enterprises included recreational and tourism facilities, grazing, education and research, habitat and carbon mitigation credits, hunting and fishing, and timber operations.
