Summary: Cardno ENTRIX conducted ecological risk-based 316(b) Demonstration for three, steam electric generating units on the tidally influenced Delaware River. Cardno ENTRIX designed the field sampling plan, evaluated adverse impact using standard fisheries models (Equivalent Adult Model, Equivalent Yield Model and Empirical Transport Model) and a weight of evidence approach. The report was submitted in 2002. Since 2004, Cardno ENTRIX has provided additional 316(b) strategy and support to ensure compliance with USEPA's (currently suspended) Final Phase II Rule for cooling water intakes. This has included discussions with the regulators, revised modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and coordination impingement survival studies on new intake screens.
