San Clemente Dam Project

Summary: Cardno ENTRIX conducted background and field research and oversaw the Tribal and Governmental Agency consultation process associated with the Section 106 process for NEPA/CEQA Environmental Impact Statement(EIS)/ Environmental Impact Review(EIR) for the San Clemente Dam Seismic Safety Project. Archaeological investigations included background research and a pedestrian survey of the project area of potential effect (APE). Historic resource studies were comprised of background and archival research, a field survey, and the completion of historic inventory forms. Consultation activities included coordinating dialogue with Native American agencies and organizing meetings with the California American Water Company, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Tribes in order to reach consensus on issues concerning the APE, field methods, National Register eligibility, impacts and mitigation measures. Results of the research, fieldwork, and analyses were documented in the completion of an EIS/EIR.
