Third Party Validation of Client Processes & Procedures

Summary: Cardno ENTRIX provide third-party validation of client processes and procedures for ECETOC TRA and EUSES modeling for one chemical, at one plant location in Europe and two downstream uses (i.e., inks and adhesives)

In order to evaluate the risk assessment and use modeling methods pertaining to environmental exposure, the client provided the following information:

• Chemical characteristic, physical property and environmental chemistry information;
• The Derived No-Effect Level (DNEL);
• The Predicted Environmental Concentration (PEC)/Predicted No Effect Concentration (PNEC) ratio;
• Biodegradation and fate information;
• Annual plant site emissions for the chemical under evaluation;
• Use codes;
• Volumes for each use;
• The method of modeling used;
• The set of assumptions used for environmental release conditions and exposure scenarios;
• The modeling results.

Cardno ENTRIX evaluated this information and the methods the client used to define risks and exposure scenarios and developed recommendations for process improvements. The evaluation of the modeling runs were conducted in the use of ECTOC TRA and EUSES.
