On-Call Contract, King County Road Services Division, Archaeological and Cultural Resources

Summary: Under a cultural resources services on-call contract with the King County Road Services Division (KCRSD), the Cardno ENTRIX team of cultural resource specialists conducted the architectural survey and archaeological investigations for the proposed projects. As Prime Consultant, Cardno ENTRIX has received over 10 work orders to date including: Newaukum Creek 3043 Bridge Replacement Project Heritage Corridors, May Creek Bridge, Bandaret Bridge, Novelty Hill Bridge, Vashon Island Seawall Emergency Response, South Park Bridge Replacement, SW 98th Street in White Center, Woodinville-Duvall Road at Mink Road NE; Olson Farm/SE 304th Street at 124th Avenue SE Intersection; and the Green River Trail improvements.

Several of these projects utilized funds from Federal Highways Administration (FHWA), therefore the reports were prepared in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 4(f) of the National Transportation Act, as well as the Washington?s SEPA. The Cardno ENTRIX team?s cultural resource investigations include agency consultation, archaeological resource survey, and project reporting. Our reports provide a discussion of applicable historic preservation regulations and state/federal agency and tribal coordination, a description of the affected environment, the study methodology used to complete the reports, archaeological survey results, project effects, mitigation measures, and references cited in the reports.
