Natural Resource Damage Assessment, Virginia and Tennessee

Location: Virginia and Tennessee

Summary: Cardno ENTRIX staff are using existing RI/FS data and site specific survey data to generate a NRD liability estimate for 80 miles of mercury contaminated riverine and floodplain habitat. Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) and Resource Equivalency Analysis (REA) are being used to scale restoration for potential impacts to the aquatic habitat including benthic invertebrates and freshwater mussels as well as impacts to floodplain habitats including aquatic dependant birds and small mammals. Recreational survey techniques are being used to evaluate potential natural resource damages (NRDs) associated with fish consumption advisories.
