Lake Hancock/Circle B Bar Reserve

Summary: Cardno ENTRIX is working with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) to plant this 610-acre mitigation project designed for the SWFWMD as mitigation for the Florida Department of Transportation. The project is a part of a 1,256-acre wildlife and passive recreation park purchased by the SWFWMD adjacent to Lake Hancock. It includes 220 acres of marsh enhancement, 214 acres of marsh restoration, 84 acres of forested wetland enhancement, 65 acres of forested wetland restoration, 24 acres of upland habitat restoration, and 3 acres of created marsh. Cardno ENTRIX provided and installed 454,390 herbaceous plant material, 54,350 trees, and 12,290 shrubs.
