East Branch of the DuPage River Mitigation Project

Location: DuPage County, Illinois

Summary: Cardno ENTRIX staff managed the East Branch of the DuPage River Project, which was a nineteen-acre stormwater management and riparian environment site located in highly urbanized DuPage County, Illinois. The objectives of this project were to reduce regional flooding, improve water quality, and enhance wildlife habitat. Key elements of this project included: demolition of seven homes on the site; wetland and soil survey delineation; riparian environment analysis and mitigation; stormwater compensatory storage analysis and design; wildlife habitat analysis; tree survey; streambank stabilization design; and grading plans, drainage engineering plans, BMP design plans, and native vegetation planting plans.
