Summary: Cardno ENTRIX staff are providing strategic and technical services for integrating site characterization/remediation and NRDA processes at the largest primary lead smelter in North America. Cardno ENTRIX staff negotiated the statement of work, wrote the work plans, and conducted field sampling of surface water, sediment, fish, aquatic invertebrates, soil, vegetation, terrestrial invertebrates, and birds. A draft screening-level ecological risk assessment and pre-assessment screen have been completed and submitted to the agencies. A site-specific assessment of the bioavailability and bioaccumulation of metals in soils, sediments, and water is currently being conducted.
