Summary of 2010 REACh Project Accomplishments
Summary:
IUCLID Dossiers
- For the hazard assessment phase of a CSA, staff generated robust study summaries in IUCLID for physico-chemical, environmental, and human health endpoints; determined klemisch scores; key, supporting and weight of evidence study status; and developed data waiving statements. All work was integrated into the IUCLID dossier for each substance.
- Developed Extended SDS for 30 to 35 substances that were registered in 2010.
Reviewed Environmental Risk Exposure Processes
- Provided third-party validation of client exposure assessment processes and conclusions from ECETOC TRA and EUSES work
REACh Impact on TSCA Legislation
- Assisted a chemical industry association in understanding how the data cost sharing provisions in the REACh regulations and industry consortia and SIEF agreements could be used to help shape proposed language and regulatory approaches for data sharing in the current TSCA revision efforts.
- Accomplished a time-sensitive REACh related exposure assessment of two problematic chemicals using the Advanced REACh Tool (ART). This is an advanced REACh tool that can be used to refine Occupational Exposure Assessments.
Environmental Assessments
(for Manufacturing and Consumer Uses of two large substance categories)
- Modeled environmental exposures and derived PEC/PNEC ratios for each substance and use; entered environmental assessment outcomes into the appropriate sections of supporting documents for REACh registration
- Conducted assessments for downstream uses
Human Health & Environmental Exposure Assessments
- Conducted human health and environmental exposure assessments and completed the applicable Chemical Safety Report (CSR) documentation for REACh registration of two surfactant categories for consortia member uses.
