Sally Ryan Joins Cardno ENTRIX's Anchorage Office

Sally Ryan, P.E. recently joined Cardno ENTRIX as an Air Permitting Senior Consultant in our Anchorage office. She will be working on multiple client engagements and joins our other permits engineers in expanding Cardno ENTRIX's air permitting and compliance practice across the region.
She brings valuable industry and state experience to her new role. Prior to Cardno ENTRIX, Sally was the Construction Permits Group Supervisor for the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Air Permits Program, serving as the technical expert on issues related to construction and minor air permits across the state. In addition, she has extensive experience overseeing and preparing a wide array of air permits for the oil and gas, seafood, mining, and electric utility industries. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alaska and holds a B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Third Creek Restoration Honored with Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's Best in the Basin Award
Award Recognizes Innovative Natural Systems Engineering and Partnerships Needed to Successfully Complete Stream Restoration
Incline Village, NV (February 24, 2010) A unique coalition of federal, state and local agencies which restored a special part of the State of Nevada's natural waterways has won the TRPA Best in the Basin Award in recognition for their restoration efforts.
Pointing the way to future collaborative efforts, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) announced today The Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID), and Cardno ENTRIX, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Nevada Division of State Lands (NDSL) have been awarded the TRPA's Best in the Basin Award for Restoration. The award is in recognition for excellence in collaboration, planning and execution of the recently completed Third Creek Restoration project.

TRPA Announces Cardno ENTRIX as a Best In Basin Winner

Cardno ENTRIX was announced as a winner in the Lake Tahoe News, as one of the recipients of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's (TRPA) Best in Basin Award for their Third Creek Stream Restoration Project. The article commends Cardno ENTRIX Chief Engineer Charley Miller, P.E. who was recognized in the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza back in October for his part on what was probably the fastest stream restoration project done in the history of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Resource Cost Evaluation Services

On January 26, 2010, Cardno ENTRIX was awarded a contract to provide The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) with expertise in reviewing Metropolitan's cost analysis for water resource programs and evaluating the regional economic impacts of its proposed water supply programs. Work is anticipated in the form of individual task orders issued on an as-needed basis for specific work assignments.
The Cardno ENTRIX Team is led by Project Manager Duane Paul, Ph.D., who has 35 years of experience in natural resource and agricultural economics, financial studies, benefit-cost analysis, and land-use planning and environmental analysis. He has worked with water agencies and other government entities throughout California on issues of resource use and valuation, water transfers, and impact analysis. Cardno ENTRIX Employee Laura Craig Assists in Sea Turtle Rescue

Cardno ENTRIX, Vero Beach employee, Laura Craig assisted last week in one of the largest inter-agency cooperative sea turtle rescue efforts ever undertaken in the U.S. The recent unseasonably cold temperatures caused the water temperature within the Mosquito Lagoon, the Banana River, and other associated waterways to drop well below normal wintertime levels. Unable to withstand the cold, thousands of threatened and endangered loggerhead (Caretta caretta) and green (Chelonia mydas) turtles became cold-stunned; these reptiles floated to the surface of the water, unable to move except to lift their heads to breathe and vulnerable to attack by sea-birds.

Cardno ENTRIX is pleased to announce that Kathleen Barrett has joined the firm as a Senior Project Scientist based in our Riverview, Florida office. Kathy has a M.S. degree in Biology/Zoology from the University of South Florida and has over 10 years of experience working as an ecologist in Florida. She has worked on projects throughout the state with the majority being in central and southern Florida including the everglades. Kathleen also has five years of project management experience with clients that include Water Management Districts, county governments, municipalities, engineering firms, and many private clients.
Kathleen's areas of specialization are in Wildlife Ecology, Floral and Faunal Species Surveys, Inventory and Monitoring, Protected Species Management Plans, Land Management, Habitat Restoration Feasibility Studies and Design, Wetland and Upland Ecology, Mitigation Design, Monitoring and Maintenance, Research and Statistical Data Analysis, Permitting and Construction Permit Compliance, and Project Management.
