Cardno ENTRIX Assists Chevron with Natural Resource Damages Settlement

On January 24, 2011, The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced the settlement of a natural resource damages case that will result in ecosystem restoration projects to preserve waterways and enhance wildlife habitat on and near the former Indian Refinery south of Lawrenceville, Illinois. The $1.7 million dollar settlement will protect waterways, expand public land and preserve wildlife habitat on 2300 acres of land.
The Cardno ENTRIX staff led by Dr. Jody Kubitz and Todd Williams provided technical and economic support for these settlements. Since 1999, CardnoENTRIX has been providing support for the RI/FS, Ecological Risk Assessment and Natural Resource Damage Assessment at the closed 990 acre Refinery adjacent to the Embarrass River in Southern Illinois.

Cardno ENTRIX Assists Tribes in $750 Million Water Rights Settlement

The U.S. Senate approved major Indian water settlements worth more than $1 billion on November 19, 2010. The Crow Tribe of Montana received $461 million and the White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona received $292 million.
The Cardno ENTRIX staff led by Dr. Robert McKusick, Travis Greenwalt, and Lora McKusick provided litigation and technical support for these settlements. Over the past thirty years, Cardno ENTRIX has worked for or on behalf of over 70 tribes. In addition to the Crow and White Mountain Apache settlements, Cardno ENTRIX has helped the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians, Nez Perce Tribe, and the Shoshone Paiute of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation successfully negotiate water settlements.

Cardno ENTRIX is expanding its global product safety and compliance service offerings to the European Union (EU) under the leadership of Wim Jetten, a widely recognized and well respected expert in EU chemical policy. Based in Europe, Mr. Jetten started as a Senior Advisor to the firm on January 3, 2011.
Mr. Jetten brings over three decades of chemical industry experience and regulatory expertise to his role. Prior to Cardno ENTRIX, Mr. Jetten spent a successful 30-year career with The Dow Chemical Company, most recently, as the Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) for Dow Europe, Middle East and Africa. Cardno Limited Signs Letter of Intent to Merge with JFNew

Houston, TX (December 9, 2010) Cardno ENTRIX, a premier natural resources management and environmental consultancy announced today that its parent, Cardno Limited, has signed an agreement to merge with JFNew, a Midwest leader in ecological consulting, ecosystem restoration and native plant nursery operations. JFNew has regional offices in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Once the agreement is finalized, JFNew will become an integral contributor to Cardno ENTRIX and will gain access to the Australian-based parent's comprehensive global network of 3,800 employees, corporate resources, and diverse solutions portfolio. In return, JFNew brings to the broader organization a much stronger Midwestern presence, particularly in the strategic Great Lakes Region; a multitude of complementary consulting capabilities; as well as one of the leading native plant nurseries in the United States.
