Cardno ENTRIX to Expand and Open New Oxford MS Office

Katrena Henderson Joins Cardno ENTRIX as Vice President/Technical Director

We are pleased to announce the addition of Katrena Henderson as Technical Director and Vice President of the firm functioning in the role of Director of Global Services, Eastern Division, within our Washington, D.C. office. Katrena will focus on expanding Cardno ENTRIX outside the U.S. with particular emphasis on the energy and water sectors within Latin America, the Caribbean, and Australian markets.
Katrena’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to identifying and developing new U.S. and international clients that can benefit from Cardno ENTRIX’s unique consulting services. She will coordinate across the business to expand Cardno ENTRIX’s services globally leveraging Cardno’s international experience and local networks.

Cardno ENTRIX Selected for Haile Gold Mine Environmental Impact Statement

Cardno ENTRIX has been selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District (USACE), as a third-party contractor to support the USACE with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance and to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Haile Gold Mine in Kershaw, South Carolina. Application for the mine permit was made by Haile Gold Mine, Inc., owned by Romarco Minerals, Toronto, Canada.
The EIS will analyze the potential direct, indirect and cumulative effects environmental effects of the proposed project and its alternatives. Key issues may include surface and groundwater quality and supplies, aquatic/terrestrial habitat and biota, wetlands and stream habitats, federal and state listed species of concern, emergency response and contingency plans, mine closure and rehabilitation, social and economic factors, and mitigation. Todd Williams and Doug MacNair will join panel discussion at the Great Lakes Sustainability Summit

The Great Lakes Sustainability Summit hosted by the National Brownfield Association scheduled for October 25-26 at the Jenner & Block Conference Center will address issues on natural ecosystems, ecological asset valuation, natural resource restoration and the potential benefits of credit stacking.
Land-based assets often provide (or have the potential to provide) numerous ecosystem services that may provide value for credits. However, it is often difficult for landowners to realize credits, (or more than a single type of credit) which reduces revenue potential, inhibits the growth of ecosystem service markets and natural resource restoration opportunities.

Dr. Ken Jenkins and Dr. Brenda Sanders Join Cardno ENTRIX as Technical Directors for our ENRLM Practice Area

We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Ken Jenkins and Dr. Brenda Sanders to the Cardno ENTRIX team as Technical Directors for our Environmental & Natural Resource Liability Management (ENRLM) practice area.
Dr. Jenkins has more than 35 years of experience in the field of environmental toxicology. He has evaluated Natural Resource Damages (NRD) and Ecological Risk Assessment throughout the country. Dr. Jenkins has given testimony before Congress, and briefed both house and congressional staff on technical issues relating to Natural Resource Damages. He has been a member of the Science Advisory Board of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). He has served on the National Research Council Panel on the Fate and Effects of Drilling Fluids and the task force to develop revised water-quality standards for the State of Colorado, which he chaired. The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Sacramento Post is hosting an annual conference to learn about the challenges and business opportunities associated with California’s complex water and flood risk management issues. Managing California’s Water – Solutions Through Outreach and Partnering will be held 3-6 October 2011 in Sacramento, California
