Dr. Mehrle is an environmental toxicologist and chemist with 30 years of experience in ecological risk assessments, litigation support, and international regulatory compliance of chemicals. He specializes in the fate and effects of chemicals including petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, PCBs, dioxins, metals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products. He has extensive experience in providing strategy development for managing environmental liabilities and supporting litigation cases. As the head of our firm's National Toxicology Practice, Dr. Mehrle is responsible for directing company-wide initiatives in ecotoxicology, human health toxicology, environmental and human health risk, and product safety and compliance. Dr. Mehrle has written over 100 scientific publications and abstracts and been an invited participant in numerous international conferences. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and served as president of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry and editor of the international journal Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Dr. Mehrle joined our firm in 1996, after successful careers with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and as Director of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry at an international contract research laboratory. Dr. Mehrle has been a consultant and science advisor to global chemical manufacturers, consumer product companies, law firms, and state, national and international government organizations. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and M.A. in Zoology from the University of Missouri, and his B.A. in Biology at Rhodes College.

Mr. Phillips has an extensive background in regulatory toxicology and leads the firm's global Product Safety and Compliance practice. He is responsible for broadening the firm's consulting services in regulatory compliance, chemical registration, and product stewardship as well as working with global chemical and consumer product company clients. Prior to joining Cardno ENTRIX in 2009, Mr. Phillips spent 30 years with The Dow Chemical Company, most recently, as Global Director of Chemical Policy, Chemicals & Health Issues. In this capacity, he developed and led the global implementation of programs designed to improve product stewardship performance within the chemical industry, drive sustainable science-based legislation, and ensure global regulatory compliance for chemicals in commerce. Additionally, Mr. Phillips has been actively involved in numerous international organizations related to product stewardship and global chemical registration management. Over the last five years, he has led corporate and industry advocacy with the United Nations, European Union and the United States. More specifically, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Global Product Strategy (GPS) at the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). Additionally, he has worked with the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Mr. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and an advanced degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) from Saginaw Valley State University. He is also Board Registered in CLS by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and has been an ASCP member since 1979.

Mr. Hubner leads our team's practice in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He is a well respected public health expert and risk analyst with more than two decades of experience in the fields of strategic risk management, toxicology, human health risk assessment, product stewardship, industrial hygiene, risk communication, and regulatory affairs. He consults with clients in a range of product safety and compliance matters, including product registration, product stewardship and regulatory advocacy. Moving forward, he will help extend the company's suite of offerings in resource economics, energy and litigation support throughout the nation's capital. Mr. Hubner is versed in national and state regulatory arenas, having worked extensively with federal agencies and in helping private sector clients navigate complicated issues. In addition, he has a strong record of providing exceptional consultation, business leadership, and advocacy from his prior work as co-founder and president of an international risk management consulting firm for the past 15 years. Throughout his career, he has provided counsel to a diverse range of clients including private industry, non-profit organizations, trade associations, state and federal agencies, and law firms. Mr. Hubner earned a Masters in Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and his B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University.
